- DAROL AND ROSALYN KING
DEEROZ, INC. is the husband and wife production team of Darol and Rosalyn King. They have been married now for 15 years and have five children. Their mission is to create avenues of expression for those with God-given gifts and talents that may not otherwise have an outlet for those gifts and talents. Their mission started ten years ago with the Gospel production “You Can’t Straddle The Fence” featuring Damon Little and Nu Beginnings of Baltimore, Maryland along with local gospel artist Sons Of Light. In 2000 they produced and presented the 40 member King Family Choir program to a sold out Central School Theater. Rosalyn is the owner operator of Moriah’s Christian Preschool and Darol is a singer/songwriter. Their latest project is “Jazz…The Sound Track of a Movement in association with Jazz In The Arts founders Chester and Patricia Daigle.

Huber "Mickey" Smith II

Huber "Mickey" Smith II - Audiences may not know his name, but they've definitely heard the sounds of Huber "mickey" Smith II. At the age of 30 this phenomenal soprano, alto, and tenor saxophonist has
3 solo albums to his credit and is featured on 2 others. He has worked with MBK (My Brother's Keeper, Donnie McClurkin, Marvin Winans, Shirley Ceasar, Jon P. Kee, Dean James, Michael Ward, Kirk-Whalum and Ken Turner. In addition to playing as his church Christian World Ministries (Lake Charles, LA) Smith is also the director for the award-winning Maplewood Middle School Band (Sulphur, LA). Aside from performing Smith enjoys spending time with is wife Eugenia and his two children, Mikayla and William.

Jacqueline "Jakisu" Ellis - born and raised in New York City, Jacqueline moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she began her singing career, starting out at the Laney College Community Choir. As lead singer for the band Family Grance, she opened for Van Morrison in a small club in Sausalito, where she got her first taste of night club gigging. Later she joined Bishop Walter L. Hawkin's Love Center Choir and appeared on the 25th Anniversary Reunion video while honing her skills with some of the greatest voices in gospel music. Food, music, and warm weather drew her all the way down to Lake Charles, where she now resides and regularly performs with local musicians including Chester Daigle and Gervis Guidry.

Performances include appearances with such jazz greats as Buddy Rich, Pharoah, Sanders, and many others. Broussard has also made appearances at Oprah Winfrey Show, New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival - New Orleans, LA River Oaks Country Club - Houston, TX, Mardi Gras at Pujo Street Cafe', Lauberge Du Lac Casino Resort. She has also performed in Singapore, Asia, Paris and France.

Ray Lavan

Ray Lavan, Trumpet player composer, and teacher was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Ray attended LaGrange High School where he served as a Drum Major of the Gator Band and received accolades including being named to the All-State, All-Region, and All-Region Jazz bands. Ray went on to attend and graduate from McNeese State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education. Ray's musical talent has garnered him performances with great artists such as Grammy winner Bobby Sanabria, Jens Lindemann, Marcus Roberts and the Boston Brass. Ray has performed with and been a part of several local/regional bands including City Heat, Soul Vacation, Hamilton Loomis, and lead his own band, The Groove Knights. One of Ray's greatest moments as a musician occurred when he received private instruction from famed trumpet player, Wynton Marsalis.
